Keep calls syncing on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO
HyperOS and MIUI close background apps to save battery. Turn on autostart, set battery saver to No restrictions and lock LumaKol so every call logs.

Turn off battery optimisation from LumaKol
Open LumaKol → More → Diagnostics and tap Battery optimisation. The app opens the phone’s battery optimisation list; find LumaKol and choose the option that stops optimising it. The same step appears during setup as Keep capturing in the background, with the button Allow in battery settings. On Xiaomi phones this is not enough by itself, so carry on with the steps below.

Turn on autostart
Autostart lets LumaKol wake up when a call ends, even after you swipe it away or restart the phone.
- HyperOS: Settings → Apps → Background autostart (a tile at the top of the apps screen), then switch LumaKol on
- MIUI 14: Settings → Apps → Manage apps → LumaKol → Autostart (in some versions under App permissions → Background autostart)
- Older MIUI: Security app → Permissions → Autostart, then switch LumaKol on
- 3
Set battery saver to No restrictions
Open LumaKol’s app info page and remove the battery limits on it.
- HyperOS 2: Settings → Apps → Manage apps → LumaKol → Battery → Battery saver → No restrictions
- HyperOS 3: Settings → Apps → LumaKol → Power → No restrictions
- MIUI 14: Security app → Battery → App battery saver → LumaKol → No restriction
- On the same app info page, switch off Pause app activity if unused, if your version shows it
Tip: Ultra battery saver and Battery saver mode can still pause background apps. Keep them off during calling hours. - 4
Lock LumaKol in recent apps
Open the recent apps screen, long-press the LumaKol card and tap the padlock. On some versions you pull the card down instead. A locked app is not cleared when you tap Clear all, and the phone is less likely to close it.

Set up call recording in the dialer
Which steps apply depends on the dialer your phone uses. Check Settings → Apps → Default apps → Phone app (wording varies) to see which one it is.
- Xiaomi’s own Phone app: turn on automatic call recording in its settings, where your model and region offer it. Xiaomi saves these files in MIUI → sound_recorder → call_rec on internal storage.
- Google’s Phone app (used on many HyperOS phones): Xiaomi says recording works only where the model, country and carrier support it. Google keeps these recordings inside the Phone app, so LumaKol cannot attach them. Calls and outcomes still sync.

Turn on recording sync in LumaKol
In the app, open More → Calling and switch on Sync dialer recordings (only calls that match a lead are attached). If the app asks for access to music and audio, allow it: LumaKol reads only audio files your dialer creates around the time of a lead call. Two rows appear under the switch. Recordings folder is set to Automatic, which searches the phone’s audio library and finds most dialers’ files on its own. Upload recordings on Wi-Fi only is on by default, so recordings wait for Wi-Fi; switch it off if callers work on mobile data all day.
Tip: Check More → Diagnostics afterwards: with recording sync on, a Call recording sync row joins the list and should say Allowed. - 7
Point LumaKol at the folder if needed
If calls in the Calls tab say No recording found for this call while the dialer did record them, open More → Calling → Recordings folder. The phone’s folder picker opens: go to MIUI → sound_recorder → call_rec, tap Use this folder, then Allow. LumaKol keeps this access after a restart.

Test with one call
Call a lead from LumaKol, talk for a few seconds and hang up. The outcome prompt should open straight away. Lock the phone, wait a few minutes, make one more call, and check that it also appears in the Calls tab with the right lead.
What you have at the end
- Autostart on and battery saver set to No restrictions for LumaKol
- LumaKol locked in recent apps
- Calls captured even after the phone restarts
- Recordings from Xiaomi’s own dialer attached to the call
Common questions
I did all of this and a call still logged late. Why?+
HyperOS can still stop apps when the battery is very low or a saver mode is on. The call is not lost: LumaKol reads it from the call log the next time it runs, for example when you open the app.
Do the settings reset after a system update?+
Sometimes. After a HyperOS or MIUI update, open More → Diagnostics and check the score, and look at autostart and battery saver again if calls start arriving late.
