Scan business cards into leads
Point the phone at a business card and the Add a lead form fills itself in — name, numbers, email, company and job title — read on the phone, with the photo never uploaded.
- The latest LumaKol app on Android — or on iPhone, once the iPhone app is on the App Store
- Permission to add leads in your workspace

Open the scanner
Leads tab → the Add leads icon at the top. On Android tap Scan business card; on iPhone tap Scan a card. The same option sits inside the Add a lead sheet, so you can start typing and scan halfway.

- Check the fieldsfilled in for you

Take the photo, or pick one
Take photo (Android) or Scan with camera (iPhone) opens the camera; Choose from gallery or Choose a photo uses a picture you already have. Hold the card flat, in good light, filling the frame. On iPhone the document camera finds the card’s edges for you.

Check what was filled in
The text is read on the phone — Google’s on-device text recognition on Android, Apple’s on iPhone — and sorted into the form. A banner asks you to check each field before you save, because unusual layouts can put a word in the wrong box.
- Full name, the mobile number and any other numbers (fax numbers are left out)
- Email, company and job title
- City, when it is clear
- The website, which is saved as a note because leads have no website field
- Source is set to “Business card”; change it if you like
- 4
Save the lead
Choose the stage and owner as usual and save. The duplicate check runs like any other new lead: if the number already belongs to a lead in the workspace, you are told instead of a second lead being made.

Privacy
The photo stays on the phone. It is read there, never uploaded, and deleted once read; only the details you save become the lead. Reading works offline, but saving the lead needs a connection.
Qué tendrás al final
- Business cards turned into leads without typing
- Numbers in the right format for calling
- Card photos that never leave the phone
Preguntas frecuentes
Can I scan cards on the web?+
No. The scanner is in the Android and iPhone apps. On the web, add the lead by hand and tap the Business card source.
Does the app need camera permission?+
On iPhone, yes — it asks the first time you scan. On Android the phone’s own camera app takes the picture, so LumaKol does not ask for camera access.
Nothing was read from my card.+
Try again with the whole card in the photo, flat and in good light. Glossy or very dark cards read better with the light at an angle.
